Rediscovering Medieval Norwegian Law

Beschreibung

In 2024, Norway celebrated the 750th anniversary of the 'Landslov', the first law book to regulate the Norwegian kingdom. Professor and legal historian Jørn Øyrehagen Sunde tells the story of how Norwegian medieval law—and the 'Landslov' in particular—has been ideologically interpreted and politically used from the beginning of the 19th century to the present day.
