Lausanne, a student at the Sorbonne, cannot bear her boyfriend Kawa's constant talk of the suffering of the Kurdish people. At the same time, her name constantly reminds him of the Treaty of Lausanne, which will celebrate its centenary in 2023. A bloody love story about one of the greatest tragedies in Kurdish history and an insight into a soul traumatised by political upheaval.

The appendix contains an interview with the author, a contextualising contribution by Prof. Sherko Kirmanj (‘The Treaty of Lausanne and the Fate of the Kurds’) and the lecture ‘On the Language and Person of an Author’ by Sherzad Hassan.
