Procedure

Signing sessions usually last one hour. Please coordinate the schedule for your book signing with the hostesses at the information counter and let them know of any changes.

As the organiser, it is up to you how many people will be allowed to attend the signing session based on the event time, i.e. the number of people after which the queue will be closed. Please inform our hostesses of this on site.

It is your responsibility to prepare those waiting for the signing and to provide general information about your signing session.

Signage / visitor information

An information counter (F202) with a display showing all current book signings is located in a central location for the convenience of visitors.

Displays at the beginning of each signing queue show the respective signing time, author’s name and the status of the event.

Our hostesses will update the display screens with your information about the signing event and inform visitors if necessary.

Book sales

Books will be sold centrally by the Hugendubel bookshop at the signing bookshop, stand F200.

You can sell the books yourself at your book signing. To do this, you must book a book table.

Please let us know by 28 November 2025 whether book sales are to be handled by the central bookshop or if you will be taking care of this yourself.

Equipment and set up at the signing table

In front of a 2 m wide, 2.5 m high wall, there is a signing table with a screen and two chairs facing the queue of visitors. No advertising may be displayed on the exhibition wall. However, you can decorate the signing table area with roll-ups and other displays, for example. Posters up to A2 size can be attached to the signing desk cover.

Water is available for those signing.

Should queues nevertheless form in the exhibition halls, the event causing them will have to be cancelled, the queue of visitors dispersed and the costs charged to the person responsible.

During your events in the book fair forums, you may use the signing and book sales table at the respective forum for half an hour after your event.

The respective organiser is responsible for organising the book signing. When holding book signings, the special terms and conditions of participation in Leipzig Book Fair (PDF, 161 kB) ,in particular § 1.19, and the Leipzig liest reading festival terms and conditions of participation, in particular § 2.8, must be observed.
