From stand construction to specialist staff and transport: We have a wide range of services available to optimise your presentation, thus guaranteeing sustainable trade fair success.
The following service offers may also be of interest for the calculation of your trade fair stand. The services listed here are examples from our extensive service catalog and should serve as orientation for your trade show calculation. Further services at Leipzig Book Fair
Our support will make your trade fair experience less stressful: take advantage of our wide range of services in the fields of technology, internet, interpreting, forwarding, transfers, VAT refunds and visas.
Our Event Technology (VT) department can assist you with any technical and safety-related questions. Our colleagues provide advice to exhibitors and stand builders before, during and after the fair.
The grounds of the Leipziger Messe are equipped with modern information and communication infrastructure. Among other services, we offer wired internet connections in the exhibition halls – with high bandwidth and availability. You can easily book this service using our online ordering system .
Note: To connect your own Wi-Fi router to your wired Internet connection, please follow this guide (PDF, 335 kB) . This contains the basic instructions for a reliable connection.

DHL Trade Fairs & Events GmbH (DHL TFE) is the exclusive logistics partner of Leipziger Messe GmbH. The company has sole forwarding rights on the grounds of the Leipziger Messe.
DHL TFE services in detail:
- Transport of exhibits and stand installations to and from the stand
- Empty and full load handling, including provision of technical auxiliary equipment for unloading and loading
- Assembly or deconstruction
- Transport etc.
- Customs clearance for temporary and permanent imports

Advice on reimbursement of input tax
As business owners, foreign trade visitors and exhibitors can claim a reimbursement of any VAT paid. In this section, we have compiled some information and guidance on input tax refunds.
Value Added Tax
VAT is a consumer tax that is levied on the consumption of goods and services in Germany. The current applicable rate is generally 19% and in some cases 7%.
Businesses from EU Countries
Applications for VAT refunds from foreign traders established in an EU Member State can only be submitted in the trader's country of residence (Article 7 of Council Directive 2008/9/EC of 12 February 2008). Businesses from Non-EU Countries
Under certain conditions, businesses not based in the EU (so-called third countries) who procure supplies or other services in Germany for their business may be reimbursed for input tax invoiced to them through the pre-tax refund procedure pursuant to Section 18 (9) of the German Value Added Tax Act (UStG) and Sections 59 to 61a of the German Value Added Tax Implementing Ordinance (UStDV). This is the responsibility of the Federal Central Tax Office. This service is also free of charge.

The Federal Foreign Office also provides you with the address of the relevant German embassy or consulate and application forms for Schengen visas. You will find a list of the documents required for applying for a visa in your country of origin (in German as well as an official language of your country of origin) on the website of the relevant German embassy or consulate in your country of origin.

If you are visiting a congress or a trade fair from another country and require a letter of invitation for visa purposes, please indicate this when registering. Just check the corresponding box. You will then receive an email with a form to fill out with the personal data required to create the invitation letter. Please provide all necessary information and fill in all mandatory fields on the form, otherwise your application cannot be processed.
You will receive a letter of invitation within five working days of receipt of the application and verification of the data supplied.
Note: Invitation letters will only be issued to congress participants and trade visitors of the particular trade fair who can prove their professional connection to the industry.
Invitation letters are addressed to the responsible German embassy or consulate and are written in German. You will receive your invitation letter by email.
Please inform us in good time if you need an original letter of invitation for your visa application. This will then be dispatched by normal post.
Note: Please be aware that Leipziger Messe cannot cover any costs for shipping by express mail or courier.
Should you wish to have the original delivered to you by courier, you have to apply for collection of the document yourself and pay the resulting costs.
You should register promptly to ensure you receive your visa on time.
